Who is K/DA Akali?

K/DA Akali is the virtual incarnation of the League of Legends champion Akali as a member of the virtual K-pop group K/DA. She performs as the group's rapper and on-stage persona, and her K/DA vocals have been performed by Jeon Soyeon of (G)I-DLE. K/DA was created by Riot Games with cinematic visuals produced by Fortiche Productions and made its public debut with the single POP/STARS in 2018.

POP/STARS: Riot Games x K/DA. Released in 2018 as K/DA’s debut single to coincide with the 2018 League of Legends World Championship, POP/STARS combined Korean and English vocals from (G)I-DLE, Madison Beer and Jaira Burns. The campaign used a Fortiche-produced animated music video, an augmented reality stage performance at Worlds, and in-game K/DA skins to promote the song and the League event.

THE BADDEST: Riot Games x K/DA. Issued as a pre-release single in 2020 ahead of the All Out project, THE BADDEST introduced updated character imagery and served as a social and streaming lead single. The release was supported by lyric video premieres and coordinated social media reveals that highlighted Akali’s updated ‘rebel’ styling.

ALL OUT EP: Riot Games x K/DA. The November 2020 EP collected multiple new tracks and collaborations with artists including Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE, Kim Petras, Twice members, Bea Miller, and others. Riot promoted the EP with official audio and lyric videos, platform-wide streaming releases, and coordinated in-game tie-ins across League of Legends and related Riot titles to amplify the music launch.
